Asia Travel
I have had a strong interest in
visiting Northeast Asia for a long time. I took advantage of a
airfare special that was offered by Expedia.com. Cincinnati, Ohio to
Nagoya, Japan round-trip for $438. That was without a doubt the most
incredible deal relating to airfare that I've ever seen. The ticket
allowed me 90 days between arriving in and departing from Japan
(Nogoya) which was perfect. In fact I spent more money for flights
from Hong Kong to Taiwan and Taiwan to Japan than I did from the
U.S. to Japan. I bought those other tickets to make a round circuit,
also it's impossible to go to Taiwan from China. An interesting fact
is that I purchased the ticket's to fly from Hong Kong to Taiwan and
Taiwan to Japan in the U.S. I thought it was strange that you can
buy airline tickets for travel within a foreign country from the
U.S. Well anyway I began my journey by being dropped off by my
friend Erich at the Knoxville Greyhound bus station taking the
Greyhound bus from Knoxville to Cincinnati. Once there I took a
public bus to the airport. A couple of bucks versus a taxi for $50
no way! I almost never use taxis. Huge rip offs. and then
flying to Nagoya from Cincinnati. 16 hour flight wow that was a long
one. My plan was to make a circle starting with Japan for a month,
then a boat to South Korea for 10 days, boat from there to China for
a month than Hong Kong. Fly from Hong Kong to Taiwan - Taiwan
for about 10 days and then fly back to Nagoya, Japan for my return
flight to the U.S.
Style
I am a “day in the life” kind of traveler. That means that I try to
live as close to the locals daily life as I can. Take public
transportation. Seeing the sites. Eating at small restaurant and
street vender foods
