Luggage,
Hookers and Hospitality St. Petersburg immediately stood out as being different the other places I’d visited because not five minute on the main drag a couple hookers began walking with me talk in English. “where you going” one of the two tall well dressed girls said. I was wore out and sweaty by the all day transit and missing bag and replied going to the hostel. Cuba hostel, you know where it’s at? They didn’t respond. I had just failed they first test for money. Then one said what you doing latter? I said. Sleeping. “That’s no fun” she said. And I thought it beats Aids, Police, robbery and a beating. I made the hostel in no time with the huge Kazan Cathedral as a landmark. The entrance is like so
many hostels “low key” and blends into the neighbor so well You can be looking right at it and not know it. Once buzzed up I was greeted with friendly kind young Russian girl that made me feel at home. Moscow and Volgograd where easily out done. Begin St. Petersburg.
