pretty girl’s
smile. Just a random entry from my journal. Mexico has no shortage of
beautiful girls. Exhausted from my ferry ride from the mainland I
secured the rattiest hotel room yet, but a fan and the price make it
okay - seven dollars. I had to share the room with a roach that
would show itself once in a while. How do you say cockroach in
Spanish? Before you freak out, this was the only lodging I've ever
had with a roach and that's pretty good if you consider all the
cheap rooms I've stayed in.
Delicious
Mexican Food
Had an excellent
fish lunch at La Fonda’s, a place my travel guide book made sound good
my first day here. Mexican
cooking is so good IN Mexico. I believe that

changed and diluted to better suit
the desires of people in the new country. Yet another reason to travel -
The authentic delicious foods. I'm one week into my trip and all is going
well. The next
day I tried something new - street vendor fish tacos for lunch. I know
what you thinking, fish tacos? Freshly caught, lightly battered and
deep-fried fish put in small tortillas freshly made with cilantro
(a wonderful spice I didn't know about until traveling to Mexico), onion
relish and sauces of your choice - absolutely delicious. I've been a fish
taco nut ever since.
Bought my ticket
back to the mainland for $40. I am the kind of traveler that doesn’t
plan much. The kind that normally doesn't know what he's doing from day
to day. So it's not uncommon for me to buy a one-way ticket somewhere
and stay in a place until I feel it's time to leave then I buy my ticket
back. I walked to the local bus station from my hotel and grabbed a
school bus to a local beach about 20 miles away.
The Surreal Beauty of Tecolote Beach
What
an amazing place. The most crystal-clear water I've

those
stores or souvenir selling people. Just one guy with a cart that was
selling fresh
fruit drinks out of coconuts, that's about it and just a few people so
that that really added to the magic of the place being secluded. How
beautiful and clean the water was I was wading at some point in the
water and I saw this little puffer fish swim up to me while near me he
was the cutest little guy he was like all puffed up with
those little spikes come out of all the way around and had a little tail
whipping. He was so cute. I'm glad that he didn't attack me. Ha ha I
saw an amazing example of nature a large rock formation with a little
tiny column holding it up totally formed naturally just odd and strange
but like I say very alien looking area - beautiful sunny day
Fun and Exciting La Paz Night Life
I met a fellow solo
traveler, Andy and discussed the merits of the fish taco with him. We
went to a nightclub,
and had
some drinks. La Paz's most beautiful people dancing and drinking
all night long.

know where all those beautiful, nicely dress Mexican people came
from but they sure did show up that night. The club (La Pazlapa) was a huge outdoor
place, perfect weather wall-to-wall people literally had to swim through
people to get anywhere. The music was loud and good and they even have
some unique theatrics with large CO2 tanks sprayed white gas or white
clouds of stuff. Anyway it added to the atmosphere which was memorable
and exciting. I really had a great time, but boy did I pay for it the next
morning. I had one of the worst hangovers – the hangover from hell. I
told myself I'll never drink again ever. Had to be the tequila.
On to San Jose del Cabo by Bus
My luck the next day
I was catching a bus to San Jose del Cabo about 20 miles before Cabo San
Lucas. More painful transportation/transit - painfully long bus ride to
San Jose very sick stomach I never want to drink again this bus was
making so many turns, so curvy and mountainous it was up-and-down
turning constantly turning right and left you can imagine what that does
to somebody in my condition. Note to self - do not drink tequila as if
it wasn't something that's very dangerous.
