I visited Alaska in 1991 as part of my 12,000 mile North American hitchhiking odyssey. Alaska is like another world. Vast and wild. Denali National Park is a must see. I lived in Anchorage for a couple of months doing odd jobs. The funniest was Zamboni operator trainee. I also bused tables at the Anchorage Hilton. I made it as far North as the Gates of the Arctic Brooks range for camping. What a fantastic experience.
