Michigan

The Motor City
I was born and raised in Michigan, the Great Lakes state. Detroit is the major city in Michigan and is known worldwide for being the center of the automobile manufacturing industry. When seen on a map the state has the shape of a mitten.

Great Lakes
Michigan is surround by huge fresh water lakes. In fact, there is so much water available that it's not uncommon for automatic lawn sprinklers to water the grass with drinking grade water when it's raining.

Recreation
A lot of people work and live in the Detroit area known as metropolitan Detroit. People like to get away for the city for recreation by "going up north" to cabins, state parks etc.

Bad Reputation
A lot of people are scare of Detroit. Its got a bad reputation. I have never had a problem. The places that may be danger are of no interest to a tourist anyway.

Henry Ford Museum
My personal favorite place to visit is Henry Ford museum in Dearborn. I highly recommend you make a trip here.
