Night Live Tickets
I sat in the studio audience of Saturday Night Live for free. The
date was November 22, 2008 and the guest host was Tim McGraw.
Musical guests were Ludacris & T-Pain.
How I Got into the Show
I waited in line outside 30 Rockefeller Center in twenty degree
weather for twelve hours to receive a voucher that I used to fill a
seat in the audience.
First Attempt
at Getting a Ticket
My first attempt was for the October 18, 2008 show with Josh
Brolin. I lined up at 7 p.m. Friday and after twelve hours of
waiting received a ticket handed out at 7 a.m. Saturday. I got
ticket number fourteen.
Turned Away at the Last Minute
I returned at 10:45 p.m. to stand-by. Ushered to the elevators to go
up to studio 8H at 11:28 p.m. informed NO stand-by's would be used.
I think Gov. Sarah Palin's appearance tipped the scales in the favor
of the beautiful, wealthy and connected people to use up those few
seats. Not to mention cameos by Oliver Stone, Mark Wahlberg,
Lorne Michaels,
Alec Baldwin, and Tina Fey.
